ResellerRatings.com for Safe(r) Online Shopping

If you purchase any items online through independent websites, ebay, Amazon, or others, always be sure to check out the ratings the retailer has received on ResellerRatings.com first (you can also now “like” them on Facebook). ResellerRatings.com has been around since 1997 and has over 400,000 reviews of almost 23,000 online retailers. ResellerRatings.com reviews will cover anything from credit card fraud, bad quality merchandise, nondelivery, bad customer service, and more. A good rating from many reviewers on ResellerRatings.com can offer peace of mind when ordering online, though obviously is no guarantee.

My husband first told me about ResellerRatings.com when I was shopping for some new computer equipment online back in 2002. I found many little-known retailers online selling parts I was looking for for much less than some of the more reputable sites like Newegg.com. The prices at times seemed to good to be true, and since the retailers weren’t familiar to me I was nervous to submit my credit card number online to them. More often than not, when I submitted a retailer with a “too good to be true” price to ResellerRatings.com, their review was not favorable. In the end, I ended up ordering a vast majority of the computer parts from Newegg.com for a few more dollars but a lot more security and peace of mind.

Since then, I’ve used ResellerRatings.com almost anytime I’ve made a purchase online with a lesser known retailer. In fact, the one BIG time I didn’t, we had over $3000 in fraudulent charges to our credit card. All because I was in a rush for a great anniversary gift. Watch yourself – it can happen to even the most saavy of us!

To safe online shopping! Cheers!
